30-Year-Old Escapes from Hot Car

PALM DESERT, CA (TheSkunk.org) — A 30-year-old man was left inside a hot car by his father, as temperatures soared into the triple digits.

Olaaf Acher left his parked vehicle and went into a Starbucks Tuesday, leaving his unemployed son inside the car with the windows rolled up.

“I started to sweat really bad,” said Steven Archer, who described the fifteen minutes inside the locked vehicle as “sheer hell.”

The elder Archer told authorities he had completely forgotten about his son, who had been riding next to him in the passenger seat. “I was taking that good-for-nothing fruit-of-my-loins to a job interview, when I decided to stop off and get myself a vanilla latte. I didn’t realize the line would be so long.”

According to reports, that’s when Steven started to have trouble breathing. “I knew I needed to do something,” he explained. “I unlocked the door, got out of the car and went inside the Starbucks to see what was taking him so long.”

Although investigators have indicated Archer may have left his son in the car intentionally, no charges have yet been filed.
